My interest in art and craft began when I was growing up in the Potteries in Stoke on Trent, England, where my nana was an artist. She taught at Burslem School of Art and we spent all our spare time together painting and crafting.
I went to university in Edinburgh and studied psychology. After graduating I used art with my clients in mental health and learning disability services. In 2003 I moved to Dublin and worked in homeless services, again I managed to use art in my work.
I also started selling my craft work in 2003. At first, I only worked on glass selling at craft fairs in Scotland and Ireland. I now work mainly on silk and primarily sell through retail outlets.
Before settling in Ireland and having a family, I travelled a lot around Asia where the colours and textures have really influenced my work.
In 2008 I moved to Donegal and started kokodesigns.
I am currently converting an old outhouse into a studio and hope to have it finished by early 2011
